The foundations of theatre, sculpture, and philosophy were laid in Ancient Greece. These achievements were adopted by Rome and, through Roman civilisation, became part of the cultural heritage of the modern world. The stories of Narcissus, Sisyphus, Prometheus, Echo, Icarus, and Odysseus have survived for thousands of years not because they tell tales of gods and heroes, but because they reveal enduring patterns of human behaviour that remain strikingly familiar today. We encounter them in our work, our relationships, our politics, and our own inner lives.
